Laptops are designed to eliminate the need for a mouse and its accompanying wires that are standard with desktop computers. Many people find it easier to just phase out the use of the track pad feature on a laptop to focus solely on keyboard shortcuts and commands in order to further streamline their efforts. Keys, particularly in heavy use situations, may be damaged or become unusable on laptops, including Toshiba models. You can make necessary repairs by installing replacement Toshiba Satellite A300 Keyboard keys.
Arrange the new hinge from the replacement key on the table in front of you so the white, solid end of the hinge is on top, and along the edge closer to you. The black hinge with two small pins at the end should be underneath and further from you.
Push the lower left corner of the hinge assembly into the lower left socket on the Toshiba Satellite A300 Keyboard. Insert the right corner in as well to attach the lower edge of the hinge.
Use your finger to push the upper hinge pins into the upper corners of the key on the Toshiba Satellite A300 Keyboard. The hinge should snap into place.
Place the rubber button on top of the hinge so it is centered on it. The narrower side of the button should be on top.
Put the new key directly on top of the button and press it down until it clicks onto the hinge pieces below. Make sure the key is perfectly aligned before pressing it down to ensure a proper connection.
